Axel Kober conducts a magnificent cast including Gerald Finley as the tormented Amfortas, Franz-Josef Selig as Gurnemanz, and Jennifer Holloway as Kundry.
Wagner's final masterpiece — his "sacred stage festival play" — is one of the most profound and spiritually overwhelming experiences in all art. Over five hours of transcendent music explore compassion, suffering, and redemption through the story of the "pure fool" who heals a wounded king. The Prelude, the Transformation Music, the Good Friday Spell, and the final scene of redemption achieve a spiritual intensity unmatched in Western music.
