About the Event
Tickets for La Bohème at the Puccini Festival 2026
La Bohème, perhaps the most beloved opera in the world, returns to the Gran Teatro all'aperto Giacomo Puccini for the 72nd Puccini Festival. Composed between 1893 and 1895 at Torre del Lago itself, where Puccini spent his most productive years, this opera tells a universal story of love, friendship and loss in the bohemian Paris of the 1830s.
The poet Rodolfo meets the young seamstress Mimì on a freezing winter night, and between them a tender, passionate love is born — destined to be shattered by poverty and illness. From the first spark of "Che gelida manina" to the sweetness of "Sì, mi chiamano Mimì", to the heart-rending finale, La Bohème is the very essence of Puccini's genius.

La Bohème premiered at the Teatro Regio in Turin on 1 February 1896, conducted by the young Arturo Toscanini. Inspired by Henri Murger's novel Scènes de la vie de bohème, the opera transforms the stories of young Parisian artists into a musical fresco of extraordinary tenderness. The simplicity of the story is enriched by a supremely refined score where every note expresses pure emotion.
Seeing La Bohème at Torre del Lago means immersing yourself in Puccini's world: the same landscape, the same lake, the same light that inspired these immortal notes. Choose your seats for the experience of a lifetime in the arena where it all began.
