Andreas Schager & Camilla Nylund — Wagner's Ring Third Day
About the Event
Siegfried Opera Tickets — Wagner's Ring at the Vienna State Opera
Andreas Schager — the supreme Heldentenor of our time — brings superhuman vocal power and dramatic intensity to the title role, with Camilla Nylund as Brünnhilde, Michael Volle as the Wanderer (Wotan in disguise), and Georg Nigl as the scheming Mime. Pablo Heras-Casado conducts Sven-Eric Bechtolf's production.
The fearless young Siegfried forges the shattered sword Nothung, slays the dragon Fafner, discovers the Ring and the Tarnhelm, learns the language of birds, and awakens the sleeping Brünnhilde with a kiss — discovering love and fear for the first time in a blazing duet of overwhelming power. Wagner's score includes some of his most imaginative music: the Forging Scene, the Forest Murmurs, Siegfried's Horn Call, and the transcendent Awakening. Five hours of mythological adventure at its grandest.
